epa000433819 A woman from the Mursi tribe, known as “the people of the morning”, listens to an elder about tomorrow’s election in Mago National Park, 550km from Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa, Saturday, 14 May 2005. The Mursi, of whom only about 5000 still live according to ancient customs, flaunt an an elaborate array of personal ornamentation, ranging from head-dresses, carved lip-plates and crescent-shaped scars on the upper arms of many of the men, each one, a badge of honour to show that they had killed a member of another tribe. Ethiopians across the country are voting in elections on Sunday widely considered to be a test of the ruling party’s willingness to bring democracy to the country. EPA/STEPHEN MORRISON
