NOTTINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM, SEPTEMBER 4, 2013:
Fred the ferret who went on the rampage in Nottingham yesterday is now safe and well with the RSPCA. See NTI story NTIFERRET. The animal suddenly appeared in Ribblesdale Court, Chilwell, yesterday, darting around stairs and hallways. Several people opened the front doors of their flats in the court to be greeted by the mystery visitor, who then ran at them, sinking its teeth into their ankles. An ambulance turned out to treat one victim, and the police were also contacted, who called the RSPCA. Some people named the ferret ‘Fred’, before one brave resident was able to tempt it into a cat box with a slice of ham and hand it to RSPCA officers. The charity is now trying to find out who its owner is so it can be returned to them.
